Experiencing the Way of the Sufi

A 6-day gathering with Pir Elias and Friends

at the Sufi Temple, Murad Hassil, Katwijk-aan-Zee, Netherlands

In the Spring of 2024, the Sufi Way will host a 6-day retreat in the beautiful atmosphere of the Sufi Temple rising in the dunes by the North Sea. All are welcome.

Our retreat will be dedicated to the direct experience of love
— this mysterious gift that unites us with all being.

Throughout our time together we will learn to open into present-moment-awareness — what Ibn ‘Arabi called the spontaneous “divine self-disclosure” which is the source of our experience of love — and of compassion, wisdom, ease, and joy.

The retreat will include periods of meditation, intense practices, silence, song, musical meditations, inquiry, presentations on the Open Path, Sufi cosmology and psychology, poetry, as well as walks in the dunes, night vigils, and more.

The retreat will begin at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 24, and conclude after lunch on Wednesday, May 29.

Tuition:
This retreat is sponsored by the Sufi Way and is offered free of charge — there is no tuition fee.

Meals:
You will, however, need to pay for your meals and accommodations during the retreat. Delicious lunches and dinners will be provided on-site. Breakfasts you’ll handle on your own. You will pay for your meals when you register — see costs below.

Accommodations:
As there are no accommodations at the Sufi Temple, you will need to arrange for this yourself. Registration:
When you register you will pay for all meals during the retreat (lunches, dinners, and refreshments during breaks), plus a small fee to help cover the rental of the Sufi Temple. Total costs: €275 or £240 or $300. If you need to cancel your registration you may do so up to May 10, 2024, and you will receive a refund minus a €50 or £45 or $55 administrative fee.

LONDON SAMA CIRCLE

Our London Sama Circle will be gathering together on April 7th from 3pm to 7pm in a private venue in Islington. During the afternoon, through discussion and practices, we will explore and share what ‘This Love’ means to us. After a short refreshment break Omar will lead us in our evening Sama with poetry and prayer, including the zikr ‘Stream of Love’.

Join us for an evening of Sama, in the Great Hall of the Centrum voor Universeel Soefisme (Center for Universal Sufism), next to the Peace Palace in The Hague.

Our theme for the evening is ‘This Love.’ Through prayer, poems, and other heart opening practices, we will explore ‘This Love’ in preparation for the zikr, ‘Stream of Love,’ led by Omar.

Doors will open at 7pm, and our Sama will begin at 7:30 and end at 9pm.

Entry is by donation at the door.
